2021 Ford Escape

Completely redesigned less than two years ago, the 2021 Ford Escape features more interior space, more luxury features, a wide range of powerful and efficient engines including two hybrid options and an impressive list of safety technologies as well. That said, the Ford Escape has lost none of its sporty personality and fun-to-drive factor that has characterized Ford Escape models since the vehicle launched.

There are two available engines in the 2021 Ford Escape lineup including an impressive 1.5 L 3 cylinder turbocharged base engine. Yes, you read that right, the Ford Escape gets a standard three-cylinder engine. This may seem unorthodox at first, but the 3 cylinder engine offers a lot of advantages. For starters, it still delivers all the power you need with 181 horsepower along with 190 pound-feet of torque. That's more standard torque than the Mazda CX-5, the Toyota RAV4, the Honda CRV, and the Nissan Rogue. Moreover, the Ford Escape offers a towing capacity of 2000 pounds even with the base engine. This means that the Ford Escape offers better towing capacity than its competitors listed above.

If you opt for the optional 2 L EcoBoost which is turbocharged, then you will enjoy 250 horsepower and 280 lbs-ft of torque. Very few engines offer this level of performance in the compact SUV segment. Better yet, you can tow up to 3,500 pounds with this engine. There are also two hybrid options, a traditional hybrid and a plug-in hybrid. The plug-in hybrid offers a range of 48 km in all electric mode. Both will average less than six litres per 100 kilometres.

That is certainly impressive for a SUV that offers 1062 L of cargo space. That said, the cargo area can be modified by moving the rear seat front and back so that you can either increase legroom for rear passengers, or improve cargo space. There's enough space in the 2021 Ford Escape to hold for hockey bags. Paired with a more luxurious interior, the Ford Escape really has everything you need for your family.
